San Filippo, M.D., New Mexico Border Health Commission (BHC) Member and Chief Medical Officer at Memorial Medical Center in Las Cruces, New Mexico, is taking part in the Third United States-México Border Tuberculosis (TB) Consortium Meeting and Legal Forum happening May 7 and 8, 2012, in Las Cruces, New Mexico. As a workshop participant, Dr. San Filippo will play a pivotal role in implementing solutions designed to undercut institutional, legal, clinical, and operational barriers that negatively affect the comprehensive TB treatment of residents in both the U.S. and México. The consortium is intended to improve the chain of TB diagnosis, treatment, and case reporting in the border region, as well as initiate successful strategies in the areas of policy and best-practice interventions. |
